Order of the Minister of Health on Prescription and Sales of Pharmaceuticals

In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova No 960 as 01.10.2012 doctors are obliged to prescribe drugs only in accordance with the International Nonproprietary Name (INN), including drugs, offset from the mandatory health insurance funds;

Leaders have to ensure dispensing drugs in pharmacies and their subsidiaries in strict accordance with the provisions of the Order, shall provide information to patients about the presence of drugs in the pharmacy - under the Trade Name (TN), corresponding to prescribed International common name and stating the retail price of these drugs from the lowest price;

Drug Agency should systematically make changes to the list of medicines approved for leave from pharmacies without a prescription (OTC list), based on the decision of the Commission on drugs, approved by the Ministry of Health;

This order was narrowed list of drugs sold without a prescription.

List of medicines approved for leave from pharmacies without a prescription are periodically updated and posted on the website of the Agency for Medicines

In accordance with the provisions of the Code of Offences of the pharmacists who will sell drugs without a prescription, may face a fine of between 400-1000 lei.

Order of the Ministry of Health No 960 as of 01.10.2012 on the procedure of prescribing and dispensing, is published in Monitorul Oficial No 216-220 as of 10.19.2012.

The Order comes into force from the date of publication.
